Can't remove Pulseaudio in Gnome

Hi, I just installed Gnome, and Pulseaudio comes with it sadly. I already had Alsa up and running on my past DE, but now it's not working. And I can't remove it. Whenever I try to, it says this:

error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: gnome-settings-daemon: removing pulseaudio breaks dependency 'pulseaudio'
:: pulseaudio-alsa: removing pulseaudio breaks dependency 'pulseaudio'

Hopefully someone can help. Thanks. smile

Don't like me? Well I can agree

Re: Can't remove Pulseaudio in Gnome

Use ABS to compile gnome-settings-daemon without pulse support.

I somehow think you won't like this in the long run.

This is only way to get rid of pulseaudio if you install gnome unfortunately. I've suggested adding it as an optional dependency, but gnome maintainers didn't like the idea.

I haven't had any issues on gnome without pulseaudio. You'll need an extension for gnome-shell's volume control to work though, and naturally gnome's audio settings won't work.
This should work, if you add 3.20 to shell-version in metadata.json.
