Latest Kernel not finding wireless card

Yea, I bet I'm starting to be a pain with my questions... hehe...

I have been running with a custom kernel with the latest ipw2200 drivers and they have been working fine.

I installed the latest and greatest this morning:
Linux lapzilla 2.6.16-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue May 2 09:08:53 CEST 2006 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.60GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

I did an lsmod|grep ipw:
ipw2200               100284  0
ieee80211              32968  1 ipw2200

and I see it loaded the modules, but iwconfig doesn't find a wireless device.
iwconfig
lo        no wireless extensions.

eth0      no wireless extensions.

eth1      no wireless extensions.

sit0      no wireless extensions.

It is normally on eth1.  When I try to build the modules against this kernel version I get errors about code missing in /usr/src/linux...  from the kernel.  Should I go back to my custom kernel or does anyone know a way to make this work?

Thanks
Norm

Re: Latest Kernel not finding wireless card

Ok, I think I know what I've done wrong -- it can't find the firmware files --

Where should I put them for the latest interation of the kernel?  They currently are in /lib/firmware
