[Solved] Kernel 4.5-1 sends my fan to 100%

I have toshiba portege r700 and the latest kernel update causes the fan to operate at 100% i have the tried the lts kernel and the same happens. I have even tried testing no change. Currently i am using 4.4.5-1 with no issues. Can anyone help? Where do i look for output to say if there is a problem?

I can use the laptop with the high fan speed and cpu operates normally no issues there.

This thread is about worse performance on 4.5.0-1 (could be related) which could lead to more heat development. There's no solution than downgrade so far.

I am going to mark this as solved, because I found the problem. It is to do with virtualbox dkms affecting the way the kernel manages the fan. I realised once i removed linux-headers dkms couldn't build the virtualbox modules.
