I installed XMMS now and mp3 works with XMMS but with Amarok which is my default player doesn't or better it's like as I wrote before. Same is with JuK, Noatun, Kaboodle.
VLC, KMPlayer works okay.

Thanks.

Re: update-kernel?

the recent kernel update included a new patch to alsa. Try rebuilding amarok-base or amarok-base-mysqlfree which ever one you have with makepkg

cd `find /var/abs -name amarok-base` && makepkg -c

install it using pacman -U and the complete path to the pkg.tar.gz

alsa-lib-1.0.11-2
kernel 2.6.16-13.1 from this morning but happened yesterday with kernel
2.6.16-12.1 from stock.
Today is the same. I will try to rebuild amarok but there are many things to rebuild too.

gstreamer doesn't work. And as I wrote before also JuK, Noatun, Kaoobodle don't work correct ans asystem sound is also like a "sawing machine"...

Re: update-kernel?

i guess the alsa-lib bug is not fully coverd by the patch we added, if you like you could browse alsa bug tracker and forum there.

Re: update-kernel?

if arts-using apps don't work, but the other ones do, I suppose something is wrong with arts... Maybe arts has to be rebuilt against the new alsa-lib?

Re: update-kernel?

noatun runs here fine, perhaps you need to modify your soundcard settings, i don't know.
