[VirtualBox Arch Guest] Unable to Start X Server after System Upgrade

I ran a full system upgrade this morning, and I'm now unable to start an X server. I'm running Arch as a guest in VirtualBox on a Windows 10 host, and prior to this update everything was working fine. The contents of /var/log/Xorg.0.log are below; the main error seems to be "AddScreen/ScreenInit failed for driver 0". I have linux 4.5.1-1, linux-headers 4.5.1-1, virtualbox-guest-dkms 5.0.16-4, and virtualbox-guest-utils 5.0.16-4 installed at present, though I'm not sure what version they were before the upgrade. None of the virtualbox kernel modules are failing to load (though they were before I installed linux-headers and virtualbox-guest-dkms).

Re: [VirtualBox Arch Guest] Unable to Start X Server after System Upgrade

This is supposed to be fixed in the recently released VirtualBox 5.0.18. You will probably also need the virtualbox-guest-utils 5.0.18 package when it arrives.

Re: [VirtualBox Arch Guest] Unable to Start X Server after System Upgrade

Only upgrading to VirtualBox 5.0.18 did not solve the problem for me. I'll hold of with the system update until the guest util update is available.

Re: [VirtualBox Arch Guest] Unable to Start X Server after System Upgrade

You can try the workaround, you don't need hold of the system update.

Re: [VirtualBox Arch Guest] Unable to Start X Server after System Upgrade

I'm wondering why VirtualBox 5.0.18 is not already added on official repositories. This bug is a pain in the bottom !

Well, there is Virtualbox 5.0.20-1, but it seems that problem is still here.

I spent few hours testing, and here are results:

Host: 64-bit Arch Linux, kernel 4.5.4-1 with fluxbox+startx and
virtualbox 5.0.20-1
virtualbox-host-dkms 5.0.20-1

Guest: 32-bit Arch Linux, kernel v. 4.5.4-1, with fluxbox+startx :
virtualbox-guest-dkms 5.0.20-1
virtualbox-guest-utils 5.0.20-1
Result:
without (grub parameter) iomem=relaxed can't startx
with iomem=relaxed startx works, but only on fixed size - full screen NOT working.

Guest: 32-bit Arch Linux, kernel v. 4.5.1-1 (also tested v. 4.5.4-1)  with fluxbox+startx :
virtualbox-guest-dkms 5.0.16-3
virtualbox-guest-utils 5.0.16-3
Result:
without grub parameter iomem=relaxed can't startx
with iomem=relaxed startx works, including full screen functionality

Guests: 64-bit Arch Linux Acts same as 32-bit
(I hope this isn't "necro~")
