I'm trying to install a Hauppauge PVR-350 into my arch machine. I can't seem to get a /dev entry created for this. dmesg seems to make no mention of it, but if I lspci it shows up as a:
Multimedia video controller: Internext Compression Inc iTVC15 MPEG-2 Encoder (rev 01)
I ran across a posting that mentioned loading "the module", but I'm not finding any module to load for this.
What steps do I need to take to get the system to create a /dev entry for this device?
[Edit] The more I work on this, the more I don't think this belongs in the newbie area, even though I feel like a complete newbie trying to get it to work. :oops: Anybody who moves these things to more appropriate areas, feel free.
I have already installed the ivtv package; should have noted that. I also just found some info on installing the DVR-500 under Gentoo; I'll take a look at that for some more info.
