Can't uninstall mplayer

well, that:  I can't uninstall mplayer

$ sudo pacman -R mplayer #or -Rns
checking dependencies...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: kdemultimedia-mplayerthumbs: removing mplayer breaks dependency 'mplayer'

I tried to search about this problem but found almost nothing, just one post in a fedora or debian forum from someone saying that he got the same problem and that it was maybe due to a gstreamer plugin conflict or something. I just installed all gstreamer (bad, ugly...) just before trying to uninstall mplayer so maybe it has actually something to do with this.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Can't uninstall mplayer

it's not a problem.

if you don't need kdemultimedia-mplayerthumbs you may remove it as well.

Re: Can't uninstall mplayer

Read the output..

You have kdemultimedia-mplayerthumbs installed. kdemultimedia-mplayerthumbs depends on mplayer. You are trying to remove mplayer. pacman won't remove a dependency of another package.

Either remove kdemultimedia-mplayerthumbs as well (either manually, or by using the cascade flag), or tell pacman to skip dependency checks (this will break kdemultimedia-mplayerthumbs).
