I don't know if a new thread should be started, but for me the culprit is the kde5 wallet integration.
Disabeling it yields a startable thunderbird again.

I didn't have Lightning but only the ImportExportTools add-on and the crash kept happening after disabling it. So, I downgraded Thunderbird.

I downgraded thunderbird as well. (and had to downgrad hunspell as well since the current version does not work with thunderbird...)
I also opened a ticket at bugzilla
