The new gitlab package in community stream cannot be used

There are too many changes between the AUR version and the current community version.
The user was changed from "gitlab" into "git". OK, this follows the official document and I assume it make more sense.
Even if I chmod all the folders I can find, it still failed. The error is:
rake aborted!
LoadError: cannot load such file -- /usr/share/webapps/gitlab/config/application
/usr/share/webapps/gitlab/Rakefile:5:in `require'
/usr/share/webapps/gitlab/Rakefile:5:in `<top (required)>'
(See full trace by running task with --trace)

I cannot see the reason why we need so big changes when the package got promoted from AUR to community...
I think if a package is likely to fail or tricky to install, it should be in AUR, not community.

Sorry for the offensive words, but I do not think it is a appreciate time for gitlab to be promoted into community.
