Fresh install difficulties

Hi all,
I've been using arch during my studies, and now my server needs a fresh install. I proceeded along the Installation Guide / Beginner Installation Guide, fairly standard setup. The disk I install to is a m-sata SSD, GPT formatted. Bootloader is Grub.

After everything is done, I reboot into the fresh install, which works for the first time only -- I am able to log in and do stuff. Second reboot, nothing works -- I do not even get into the motherboard BIOS or see grub.

The second time I tried above procedure (maybe I did make a mistake) I cought an brief message saying some error was fixed prior to the login screen -- but I was not fast enough to read the whole message.

Can you guys help me figuring out the bug?

Re: Fresh install difficulties

PS: second time install was only possible by taking the m-sata SSD and putting it into my X240 in order to format it. I did not excatly care to investigate the first time for a deeper cause, as I thought a fs was corrupt, and starting over would be the fastest thing to do.
