laptop is getting very hot very often, despite cpu not very high

Since installing Arch my laptop has had this issue, it gets hot to the point it is unpleasant to use even on the palmrest. I guess I need to adjust the fanspeed or something? I tried following this article https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/fan_speed_control without much success.

Here is my sensors output:

thinkpad-isa-0000
Adapter: ISA adapter
fan1: 3631 RPM

acpitz-virtual-0
Adapter: Virtual device
temp1: +59.0°C (crit = +200.0°C)

coretemp-isa-0000
Adapter: ISA adapter
Physical id 0: +62.0°C (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 0: +62.0°C (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 1: +61.0°C (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)

nouveau-pci-0400
Adapter: PCI adapter
GPU core: +0.60 V
temp1: N/A (high = +95.0°C, hyst = +3.0°C)
                       (crit = +105.0°C, hyst = +5.0°C)
                       (emerg = +135.0°C, hyst = +5.0°C)

I created a file called /etc/sensors.d/fan-speed-control.conf and put this in it:

chip "coretemp-isa-*"
set fan1_div 4

this is the output of sensors -s:

Error: File /etc/sensors.d/fan-speed-control.conf, line 2: Unknown feature name
coretemp-isa-0000: No such subfeature known

Am i doing something wrong?

[edit: changed my markdown to bbcode.
Also I noticed that sensors now reports a fan speed of 0 since I made these changes.

Please edit your post using BBBode code tags around program output.  It makes it far more legible and your readers will appreciate it.
You are right, your core temperatures seem rational.  I suspect the GPU and am troubled about the lack of telemetry from it.  Also, your fans are buzzing right along.  I don't use Nvidia, so I've no seat-of-the-pants suggestions.

hi!
i experiencing the same problem!
well i have an hp pavilion dv6-6199ee
sensors output:

radeon-pci-0100
Adapter: PCI adapter
temp1: +53.5°C (crit = +120.0°C, hyst = +90.0°C)

coretemp-isa-0000
Adapter: ISA adapter
Physical id 0: +54.0°C (high = +86.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 0: +53.0°C (high = +86.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 1: +54.0°C (high = +86.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 2: +51.0°C (high = +86.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 3: +50.0°C (high = +86.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)

acpitz-virtual-0
Adapter: Virtual device
temp1: +53.0°C (crit = +99.0°C)

like op i created the file with suggested parameters and got the same error!
about "radeon-pci-0100
Adapter: PCI adapter
temp1:        +53.5°C  (crit = +120.0°C, hyst = +90.0°C)"
it some times show up in sensors and some times not!(IMO it is my hybrid ATI/AMD gpu which power on and never get power off again)
if i am on wrong section please guide me to true one!
thnx

Does your laptop have hybrid graphics? If so you should look about Bumblebee and bbswitch. With nouveau the power management is still worse than with the official drivers and it doesn't power off the discrete gpu when unused, so this could be the reason of the high temperatures.

Риал Краесис: Never used any AMD hybrid laptop, but you could try to disable discrete graphics and then check if the temperature is lower.
