Unable to disable touchpad in libinput

Exactly what it sounds. Even though I have a 30-touchpad.conf that says

Section "InputClass"
        Identifier "MyTouchpad"
        MatchIsTouchpad "on"
        Driver "libinput"
        Option "Tapping" "on"
        Option "AccelProfile" "flat"
EndSection

the acceleration continues to persists.

I cannot switch to Synaptics -- for some reason it refuses to acknowldege the existance of my trackpad.

Anyone have any idea what could be going on? I have tried installing gpointing-device-settings, but adjusting anything on that was useless.

Re: Unable to disable touchpad in libinput

I don't have a solution for libinput exactly, but if you're not set on using libinput and just want a working driver, have you tried the new fork of the mtrack driver? The AUR package is xf86-input-mtrack-git. I have used libinput before but don't now because I found it was not very amenable to configuration (plus the thumb/palm detection was spotty). I switched to mtrack and have been able to replicate all libinput's features (that I know of)  and more.
