cant remove or re-install thermald

pacman -Rns thermald or anything close does not remove it, I would be fine keeping it if it worked.

if I run systemctl status thermald.service, everything has failed, I have used the configuration program and have sensors installed but it stil ldoesn ot work.

removing it doesnt seem to work either, should I simply remove al traces of it using "find ..." theres plenty of files in systemd and such, but pacman doesn't find it to remove.

EDIT: forgot to mention ; deleteing the folder still leaves services running, so a reinstall with yaourt doesnt work because the services are stil lfound, and it cancells

Re: cant remove or re-install thermald

when you remove the package, the processes would still be running… until you reboot.

But, that shouldn't stop you from a reinstall of the package.

Also, what do you mean by "everything has failed" and " doesnt seem to work either" - can you be a bit more detailed (program outputs, full logs, etc)?

Re: cant remove or re-install thermald

What I can understand from the status call is that thermald has no access to the sensors, its not communicating with the machine, a reboot still has systemd/thermald.. etc stuff still present so it doesnt like to re-install, that leaves loads of files to manually delete junk in in order for a fresh install, this is very annoying.

so error is "error: thermald exists in file system."

Re: cant remove or re-install thermald

Before removing, try systemctl stop thermald.service and systemctl disable thermald.service and then uninstall.
