[SOLVED]Changing the primary mouse button in Gnome Shell has no effect

In the Gnome Shell, when I try to change the primary mouse button from the left (default) to the right one, this change has no effect. I'm using the "Mouse & Touchpad" dialog in the Gnome Shell settings.

Has anybody else experienced this issue?

Are you using the libinput xorg driver? GNOME no longer supports the evdev driver.

How would I find out?

You can probably find out somewhere in /var/log/Xorg.0.log. You can also look through the output of these commands here, see which X input driver packages you have installed:

pacman -Qs xf86-input
pacman -Ss xf86-input

The 'evdev' thingy is the package "xf86-input-evdev" and 'libinput' is in "xf86-input-libinput". It automatically uses whatever is installed, no need to configure anything. Switching from evdev to libinput (or the other way around) would just mean installing one package and removing the other one.

EDIT: This here seems to work for me to find out what's going on:

$ grep -i 'using input driver' /var/log/Xorg.0.log
[ 5.708] (II) Using input driver 'evdev' for 'Power Button'
[ 5.719] (II) Using input driver 'evdev' for 'Power Button'
[ 5.720] (II) Using input driver 'evdev' for 'Logitech Gaming Mouse G303'
[ 5.771] (II) Using input driver 'evdev' for 'Logitech Gaming Mouse G303'
[ 5.773] (II) Using input driver 'evdev' for 'AT Translated Set 2 keyboard'

Thank you Scimmia and Ropid! Removing xf86-input-evdev and then installing xf86-input-libinput did the trick!
