Installing on another machine from VM

I would like to use VMWare to install on a Laptop's Harddrive, (since I do not own a CD burner that works on *my other* PC.)

Would there happen to be a walkthrough on this? What kind of difficulties might I expect?

Are there going to be any hardware/driver configuration issues if I do it this way? (Aka. It assumes I have wrong graphics card, etc.) I remember reading something in the wiki guide about messing up the wifi. I know grub will try to install to my PC's drive if I'm not careful, but if I can just get the base system to boot on the laptop, I can take it from there.

Am I in for an easy ride?

It is possible as per link posted by jwr, but why? I see that you donot have cd drive access but you can use live usb, unless your bios doesn't support boot from usb.

Re: Installing on another machine from VM

Ah, thank you guys! I can try a live USB drive, actually. (I automatically didn't think of that because I don't want to go through a lot of flash drives, and I like to keep the flash in good shape.) Probably worth it for sake of ease.

Looking back I can see I phrased this all wrong. Sorry about that. I needed it for a different machine. (Installing on another machine from VM.)

It would still be nice to know how to do a generic install for any machine. Maybe just 0. Use labels for partitions 1. install into VM land 2. install all drivers 3. install grub into target drive and use labels. 4. Copy FS to target drive

Seems like the issue would be drivers, alas. I don't believe you can have both AMD and NVidia, for example, or at least open and proprietary.
