I have a strange issue with my Arch Xfce. I use nvidia proprietary drivers (latest, not beta, installed during Arch setup via pacman yesterday) When ever i turn my monitor off, or if monitor goes blank automatically my monitor doesn't wake up. "No signal detected"
In Gnome 3,20 and with Tumbleweed KDE it works like charm. Even from suspend. But on my newly installed Arch Xfce it just doesn't wake up at all. The strange thing is, if i do a CTRL +ALT +F2 the monitor wakes up and i'm able reboot. If i try to login as user and startxfce4 i get the infamous "EE No display server available" message. So i think it's something with the Nvidia drivers, but it works flawless in Gnome. It might be some kind of misconfiguration or a Xfce/Nvidia-bug.
On all my other computer with various Linux-distributions and even a Windows computer the monitor always wake up. It's just in/with my current Arch Xfce i'm getting this error, never in Arch Gnome (on this same computer) or Tumbleweed. Same monitor, same cable/s.
I have no power settings enabled at all.
Hold my horses, i didn't have any power settings enabled i said, but i had a checkbox enabled in power manager and in tab "Display" i unchecked "Handle display power management" even thou i didn't have any settings in the bars saying "Put to sleep after" an "Switch off after"
Might be that one. I'll leave my computer running over night (Here in Sweden its 0:56) to see if i'm able to start my monitor tomorrow. I'll keep you updated as soon as i wake up.
E: No, didn't work. The monitor was all blank, tried to switch input manually and switch back to display port, but with no effect. CTRL +ALT +F2 and rebooted manually. Strange. Checked journalctl --boot=-1 but nothing strange (warnings or errors there)
E2: I did find a setting in my BIOS (ASUS Z87-K) for the Display/Display port. I disabled automatic link state and ECO-mode. Now things are running as expected.

I possess a device, in my pocket, that is capable of accessing the entirety of information known to man.
I use it to look at funny pictures of cats and to argue with strangers.
