High CPU usage from Xorg when screen locks

Hi, I'm new to the forum and I wish to get my first post right.
I'm using Arch on a Lenovo B50-70 laptop. I'm using the xf86 intel driver, with i3wm with compton. The only problem I had so far is that when the screen locks and goes blank, the fans start working more and I found it's because Xorg and compton both use 50-90% CPU. This is much more than the normal use I see when I'm working normally.
For locking, the screen, I use this line in the i3 config file:

exec --no-startup-id xautolock -locker "i3lock -f"

Here is my Xorg.0.log: http://pastebin.com/6JPnWvZD

Here is my compton.conf: http://pastebin.com/zrHUB9TH

Here is my dmesg output: http://pastebin.com/qL2vk99Y

I have no xorg.conf in /etc/X11.

Linux arch 4.6.2-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Jun 8 08:40:59 CEST 2016 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I hope I supplied sufficient information.
Thanks!
Cheers

I have the same problem using, X, i3lock on a thinkpad T320 - this started happening after the latest updates in the last couple of days.

shanmuha please compare the dates. This issue has been dormant for a year, so if your issue popped up recently, the cause is likely to be different. Please open a new topic about your problem and don't necrobump https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … bumping.22

Closing.
