why emacs is not in current ?

Just can't get it.  The iso size is 521504 KB  , so it can be placed on a single cd _with_ emacs. What is the reason of shift of emacs to extra ?

Because vim is smaller, and we like to keep one package of each thing in current. We also don't include OpenOffice in current because it works so nice, Abiword does the job too wink

I don't won't to start another holly war "vim vs emacs", and use both of them.
Maybe i'll create own small repository or smth. like that.

you do that. Then arch can change all of its mirrors to point at yours instead so everyone can have emacs in current instead of extra.

One more comment. Both mplayer and xine are in current. If you like to keep one package of each thing , then leave just mplayer or xine. But not both of them.

what difference does it make, it's in extra. just grab it from there like everyone else.
