laptop camera cannot capture desktop, but you can capture video or still of desktop using ffmpeg.

I think I understand the problem...

You want a video stream of your desktop to be streamed to a "device" file (in "/dev") that Linux recognizes as a camera device. ...the actual camera built into your computer doesn't matter at all! smile

I don't know if it's possible. sad
