Terminal and videos only update when mouse moves

Hi guys,

I have a strange problem:
When I type something in the terminal (e.g. xterm) or watch a video in the browser (youtube works, but vimeo for example not) the window does not update. For example I type something in the terminal and it seems it does not react. When I move the mouse I see what I typed.

Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be?
The problem appeared suddenly after flight, if I remember correctly without a software update.

Cheers,
Udo

Re: Terminal and videos only update when mouse moves

What type of video do you have? Intel? nVidia? ATI?
Which Window Manager/Desktop Environment are you using?
Wayland or Xorg?

I am using an intel card (HD Graphics 5500) in a thinkpad x250.
My window manager is i3 with Xorg.

Please search the forums before posting, there are plenty of threads about this already.

Hint - Try removing xf86-video-intel
