Ubuntu snap packages on archlinux

So, I followed instructions on https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Snapd , and installed snapd. I was able to install ubuntu-core and hello snaps, but what next? I see hello snap mounted on /snap/hello/20, and I can access it there, but is it how I am supposed to launch the binary? I thought there was supposed to be confinement

Per following post: http://snapcraft.io/?utm_source=omgubuntu , I should be able to run "hello" command after installing "hello" package, but bash would refuse to run it, and neither I see any extra apps installed in gnome.

Anyone knows what am I missing?

Re: Ubuntu snap packages on archlinux

Simple install Ubuntu then you can have a system much like windows Libra office is over a gigabyte using snaps, think about it why did you install Arch in the 1st place + you will more than likely be installing Mallware and spy-ware in the near future.

Which is wrong. It's about 287 MB.

@mandog: I have no idea what are you saying. Did you just tell me I should ditch Arch and install Ubuntu, merely because I wanted to try snap feature?

Is there some other technologies I should in your opinion try to stay away from in order to keep enjoying Arch?

@others: does anybody have any actually helpful suggestions?

Have you seen flatpak?

It's the Red Hat alternative to Snappy and appears to work well in Arch.

Quote from the lead dev of Manjaro
Manjaro 16.08 support snap packages7. However we might not go so deep into it for now. A small example would be the new libreoffice 5.2 beta snap. 1 GB to 360 MB flatpak.

mandog: if you don't have anything constructive to contribute to a thread (as, in this case, you clearly do not), don't post in it...

It is around 300MB. The first 1GB version was a mistake because it was compiled as a debug version.
