automatic cron file for logwatch

I got a message from my admin that every night at around 3 o'clock, an undeliverable email is sent from my host to root@[myhost]. Investigating this further, I noticed that the logwatch package creates the link /etc/cron.daily/0logwatch, which starts logwatch and the output is automatically sent to root (as it is configured in /etc/anacrontab).

Now, I reconfigured postfix to not forward mails to [myhost] to the relayhost and deleted the link but two questions remain:

  1. How can I prevent the reinstallation of the cronfile/symlink /etc/cron.daily/0logwatch?

  2. Why is this link created in the first place? For me, this is unexpected behaviour: every service and timer has to be enabled manually, except for logwatch.
