I'm having some trouble with scrolling in Chrome. I have not submitted a bug report to the Chrome project, but I certainly will if it seems like a Chrome problem and not just a quirk of my setup. Here is my problem and what happens:
1. I scroll on some page using the two finger gesture on the touchpad of my laptop.
2. I use the left mouse button or 'tap' gesture on the page.
3. I attempt to scroll again.
4. Chrome brings me back to the very top of the page and then starts to scroll.
I've uploaded a short GIF of what it looks like: https://giphy.com/gifs/linux-3o6gE8liIEfqqK9fmo. This behavior occurs only in Chrome and not in other web browsers. Has this happened to anyone else? Beyond submitting a bug report to Chrome or not scrolling, what suggestions do you have for me?
Thanks!

I was having this issue with Chrome while running Ubuntu, but am not having the issue anymore on Arch. I think the only thing that I did differently was to use the instructions at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/TrackPoint to set up the trackpoint with the xf86-input-evdev driver.
Edit: I am also on a Thinkpad

I am also on a thinkpad. sg1983: could you describe in more detail what you did to solve this issue? I am not having problems with the middle mouse button or the trackpoint red dot, so the instructions provided on the wiki don't seem to apply.

I can confirm I have the same bug after a recent upgrade. Is there a ticket open for this with the chromium package maintainer?
