This is a small item but I can't seem to find the answer. I am running the latest Cinnamon. When I select a folder, icon or file within a folder that isn't on the desktop with the intent of changing its name, I cannot visibly select (highlight) the icon or file text to change its name. The text is in fact selected, but text is not visibly highlighted. On the desktop things work normally, but not within any other folder. This only happens in icon view. List view is fine.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
This is a theme problem. Installing a different theme corrected it.

with nautilus, pressing F2 when file is selected opens a popover to rename the file.
Maybe the same applies on nemo

Unfortunatley that does the same thing as using rename... No highlight.
