Chromium graphical glitches on XPS 15

I'm running Arch Linux on a new XPS 15 9550 (i7, FHD) from a persistent SSD flash drive, with the discrete GPU turned off via acpi, using xf86-video-intel and no desktop environment. With Chromium's "Use hardware acceleration when available" turned on, I was experiencing sluggishness, particularly with entry into text boxes. Turning off hardware acceleration solves that issue, but now I get horizontal lines that appear and disappear seemingly randomly across the screen, which look like this:

chromium horizontal lines

They go away on their own, or if I highlight the corrupted text. Any ideas?
