Recently, I went to a trip to Italy. When I got there and connected to the internet, Gnome 3 nicely updated the timezone to CEST. Now upon my return 4 weeks later Gnome wouldn't revert back to EDT.
It's been several days, and the "maps" application knows quite accurately where I am. I've also rebooted several times. In the settings dialog for the clock I have it set to "Automatic timezone". (Of course, I could set the timezone manually, but Gnome should be able to figure it out on its own, right?)
How and when does Gnome determine the timezone?
