I'm interested in the new Mesa 12 release, because of Intel OpenGL 4 aswell as Vulkan support and I want to give it a shot. I'm interested in Vulkan too, but I cannot run any Vulkan samples.

My Intel card supports DRI3, but I need to explicitly enable it in the Xorg.conf to use it.

Does my card even support Vulkan though?
I'm asking because Mesa 12 isn't in the official repositories yet. I know its in the AUR
PS: There is also Mesa 11.3, which isn't in the repos either

It made [Testing] today

EDIT: it seems to work very well indeed for my Haswell hardware.

Nice I hope it will go stable soon.

afaik, DRI3 isn't enabled by default for any drivers yet, so you still have to configure it manually.
vulkan should be supported on ivy bridge and newer hardware.

DRI3 is enabled by default with the modesetting drivers if they are used instead of xf86-video-intel.
See modesetting(4)

I just checked https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vulkan_%2 … patibility
I'm keeping my fingers crossed to run a Vulkan sample after the update.
vulkaninfo reports support

I just updated to Mesa 12 today and I'm still not able to run any Vulkan apps. I now installed this loader https://github.com/LunarG/VulkanTools/t … /icd/intel and set the VK_ICD_FILENAMES environment variable in .xprofile to use this loader, now Vulkan apps works, not all but I can run most samples.
Mesa 12 (libvulkan_intel.so) even SEGFAULTS now, before with Mesa 11.2 I just got an error message.
Has anyone experience with the LunarG loader, is it any good?

I only had to install vulkan-intel, vulkan-validation-layers and its dependencies and vulkaninfo works without a problems here on a skylake cpu with any further configuration.

GhettoGirl, you have a Haswell GPU, Vulkan support for it in mesa 12 is described as "should be okish" by Intel developers (scroll down to timestamp 17:52 here). It's not complete yet, so it's not unusual that things might not work. Support for Ivy Bridge is even less complete. Only Broadwell and up have good support.
