Synaptics/Touchpad

Hey,

I'm trying to disable the touchpad on my Lenovo X1 Carbon, trying only to use the pointer in the middle of keyboard.

I did my research on this post: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=92980
and the arch wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/To … #Synclient

I have a few questions, if I do:

1.)

 $ synclient -l

I get

 TouchpadOff  = 2

According to the wiki to Disable

 $ synclient TouchpadOff=1

I ran the command but is still enable, and doing a synclient -l, still shows TouchpadOff  = 2

2.)

I want to permanently disable the Touchpad. Wiki suggest:

After you have successfully tried and tested your options through synclient, you can make these changes permanent by adding them to /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/70-synaptics.conf

My xorg.conf.d directory is empty, should I create the file, if so, should it just contain:

 TouchpadOff=1

Thanks

Re: Synaptics/Touchpad

Not directly. The xorg.conf.d syntax looks like this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/To … _6003C8.22
