KDE Panels - Centered unmoving clock

I would like to have a panel set up as:

Application Menu|Icon Only Task Manager|Digital Clock|Sys Tray

I would like the Digital Clock to always be in the centre of the panel

I've tried

Application Menu|Icon Only Task Manager|Spacer|Digital Clock|Spacer|Sys Tray

With this I can get the Digital Clock to be centered however if a lunch another progam or a new systray icon appears the clock moves to the left or the right. How do I get it to always stay on the same position

So its a feature ;-)

Panels in KDE do seem clunky. For instance I would like a auto hide panel with just a task switcher in it. But it refuses to stay hidden. Something happens on the systray and out it pops. Click on sonething that will launch another program and out it pops. Wouldn;t be so bad but it stays pop'ed out untill you mouse hover over on/off again.

But hey ho.
