Suddenly: can't stop/reboot (Dell Mini 10)

Hi
My arch Linux system was working great till 2-3 months ago. Then suddenly (I don't remember whether it was just after an update since I'm updating quite regularly), I can't stop it anymore.

I don't log inside X. I just do:

sudo shutdown now

As you can see on the screen, it freezes on

Powering off

(I can wait for hours: nothing happens).
