Games using newer versions of unity3d started to require pulseaudio a while back and I think this is one of them. Sound works for me with pulse, I've not tried apulse.
This from your log:
FMOD failed to get number of drivers ... An error occured that wasn't supposed to. Contact support.
is probably the problem.

smudge, thanks... installed pulseaudio-alsa, which added /etc/asound.conf
# Use PulseAudio by default
pcm.!default {
type pulse
fallback "sysdefault"
hint {
show on
description "Default ALSA Output (currently PulseAudio Sound Server)"
}
}
ctl.!default {
type pulse
fallback "sysdefault"
}
so game now with sound
