Cannot start steam - assert errors

Hello,

new arch user here. I find myself unable to start steam.

These are the error messages:
https://justpaste.it/wrsr

Output of lspci -k
https://justpaste.it/wrp9

Output of pacman -Qs nvidia:
https://justpaste.it/wrpd

Edit: The fixes proposed in the wiki regarding the segmentation fault do not seem to fix it for me.

Please provide detailed descriptions/commands for everything that you need from me. Trying to learn and want to understand.
I would very much appreciate your help!

Thank you very much!

Re: Cannot start steam - assert errors

The error is mentioned in arch wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/St … tion_fault

I'd try the latter workaround with LD_PRELOAD first, as it won't modify your system.
You could also try uninstalling lib32-libgudev and lib32-libusb if they aren't required by any package you've installed.

I'd only try the first proposed workaround on the wiki as a last resort, since copying the 32bit libusb and libgudev from steam libraries to your system libs could potentially break something else.

Yeah - I do not know how I did not see it in the wiki the first time I looked. Sorry for that.

Both proposed fixes did however not fix it for me. Error persists sad

Re: Cannot start steam - assert errors

Don't install lib32-nvidia-libgl, install lib32-mesa-libgl Bumblebee will create the correct symlinks as necessary, read the bumblebee article carefully. (and there have been a few reports of optirun not working properly so you might want to look into primusrun instead)

Re: Cannot start steam - assert errors

Thank you very much for your reply, tried everything without success. Reinstalled and reconfigured bumblebee and looked into primusrun.
