Virutalbox guest is not filling full window

I have a Win8 guest under VB, which I have been using for about 2 years now without issues (before that I was using an other installation for years without issues).  I use it only to remote login to my work computer, i.e. not daily, but as needed.  Since I update arch pretty much daily, I am not sure with which update, but auto-resize stopped filling the full window.  Moreover, it does not even allow to manually resize to higher resolutions than those that are pretty useless when I need to work remotely.  I raised this on the VB forum, but I was advised there that Arch has a fork version, hence I should be asking for assistance here.

Have you updated the guest utils on the Windows guest recently?

I doubt the guy you got on the VB forums knows much about Arch. There is no fork.

I do not update the guest extension regularly, but when it started working weirdly, I tried updating it: it did not help.
