pacman -Q miniupnpc
uname -srvmio

Re: [SOLVED] 0ad stopped working after update

Thanks WorMzy

i did a system wide update (as always), the issue was probably the mirror that had not all the files updated (or today's massive software update 8P )

everything is fine now!

Could you tell us what mirror it was? What you’re describing shouldn’t be possible. The filename of a package includes its version. And if a file is missing or inaccessible during update, you get 404 or another error. This makes pacman attempt to use another mirror or fail. Hence you either end up with a proper version or no update at all. There is no way a partial update could occur in this scenario.

Considering above, I see three explainations (except cosmis radiation):

  • You made a partial update
In such case: don’t do it, unless you really know what you’re doing.

  • You’re using a non-repo package for miniupnpc (for example from AUR), forget to update it and didn’t told us that.
In such case: try to remember to tell that next time.

  • A rogue or badly misconfigured mirror, and either you have no signatures checking enabled or one of the signing keys has leaked
In such case: the situation has to be fixed, so tell what mirror was that.
If you have signatures checking disable, you have to fix that too.

Well, I had the same problem. 0ad updated yesterday, miniupnpc today. The problem is gone now. Also looks like there is an 8 hour difference between the update of 0ad and miniupnpc.

Re: [SOLVED] 0ad stopped working after update

There was a 1 minute difference. Sounds like a mirror issue.

Edit: I apologize, it was a different package that had the 1 minute difference. You're right, miniupnpc wasn't moved when it should have been.

Re: [SOLVED] 0ad stopped working after update

sory for the late reply, but i died yesterday and my respawn was delayed for nearly 12 hours...
... and i was going to say exactly what chembro said: there is a big time difference between the updates of 0ad and miniupnpc.

it's fixed and that's what matters! thanks all!
