[SOLVED] New graphic card not working.

Hi,

My new Nvidia GTX 1070 graphic card is not properly working.

There's no display output that works (DisplayPort or HDMI). Even UEFI boot screen does not display.

However Arch Linux still boots well. Access in ssh give me some informations:

$ cat /proc/driver/nvidia/gpus/0000\:01\:00.0/information
Model: GeForce GTX 1070
IRQ: 134
GPU UUID: GPU-????????-????-????-????-????????????
Video BIOS: ??.??.??.??.??
Bus Type: PCIe
DMA Size: 47 bits
DMA Mask: 0x7fffffffffff
Bus Location: 0000:01:00.0
Device Minor: 0
# dmesg

Some Xorg.0.log informations:

[ 176.485] (EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration.
Fatal server error:

I updated the motherboard (Asus H170 PRO GAMING) firmware from version 0601 to 1810 hoping it will now be recognized. But no.

Do you believe that I have to return it to customer service or there is some hope ?

Re: [SOLVED] New graphic card not working.

Even UEFI boot screen does not display.

That suggests the problem is in hardware, not software.
could you post full dmesg output ?

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

Re: [SOLVED] New graphic card not working.

Very similar problem: https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topi … -and-arch/

His solution was to update his motherboard BIOS. I see you've tried that, so you probably have also seen that post.

This most likely is not an Arch Linux issue. I'll still try to help so long as I have time.

Can you provide your full system specs? What card did you upgrade from? What PSU are you using (model preferred instead of just wattage)?
