[SOLVED] Repartitioning Boot Device

When I installed Arch to an SSD, I used separate partitions for root, boot, and home. I'm not happy with this setup because I'm running out of partition space to install new software.

I have a blank HDD in the same computer. After reading the wiki on this topic, I want to copy the whole installation and all my files on the SSD to the HDD as one whole filesystem partition. Then I want to format the SSD and clone the HDD onto it. Finally, I want to have all of my installation and files back on the SSD as one partition, while also having a bootable HDD for backup and emergency purposes. I'm not sure what the best way to go about doing this is. Should mounting the HDD and copying all of the root files to it work?

I recommend https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fu … with_rsync

Some fiddling with the bootloader and/or fstab may be required.

Re: [SOLVED] Repartitioning Boot Device

Thanks. I'm had trouble getting the disk to boot but I forgot to make an EFI partition. I'm getting that set up.

EDIT: alright, booted into my HDD successfully, I'll repartition my SDD later after I make sure everything is okay.

EDIT 2: Got it all set up and working. Thanks.
