Re: Zebronics Iron Head Setup

You don't you usually already have them. As for how to make applications aware of that fact read through https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ad … sound_card , this only works for newly opened applications. if you want this to react more dynamically so that audio gets redirected on the fly on plug/unplug  you will want to use https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PulseAudio if you have any further questions, clarify with practical examples and command/error output on where you are stuck

Zebronics iron Head is a USB Headset. I installed PulseAudio. Through it's controller, i can controll the system volume..but when i play any song, I can't hear any sound. It's working on my other windows system.

Re: Zebronics Iron Head Setup

have you switched the respective application to the headset in pavucontrol? What is the output of

pacmd list-sinks
pacmd list-sink-inputs

Please don't update your original post with the requested info, use a new post instead. Also, use code tags instead of quote tags.

Re: Zebronics Iron Head Setup

Post the output of pacmd list-sink-inputs while playing something, if you can't wait for that, check in pavucontrol, as soon as you open up an application you should be able to move said application to your USB headset using the dropdown, to make full use of 7.1 look at the "Configuration" Tab in pavucontrol where you should be able to switch your headset from stereo to 7.1 or any of the other values. You might also want to install pulseaudio-alsa to provide applications only using ALSA with a compatibility layer.

Re: Zebronics Iron Head Setup

It's working now. Every time when I plug in my headset, I've to go to audio cnotrols and select headset as the defaults audio device and it works.
