VNC with Xfce problem

I have trouble using VNC virtual sessions with my Xfce desktop system, something that was working till a couple of weeks ago.

My ~/.vnc/xstartup file:

#!/bin/sh

unset SESSION_MANAGER
unset DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS
exec startxfce4

Starting vncserver produces the following log file:

Xvnc TigerVNC 1.6.0 - built Dec 25 2015 15:38:10
Copyright (C) 1999-2015 TigerVNC Team and many others (see README.txt)
See http://www.tigervnc.org for information on TigerVNC.
Underlying X server release 11800000, The X.Org Foundation

Tue Aug 30 12:53:17 2016
 vncext: VNC extension running!
vncext: Listening for VNC connections on all interface(s), port 5901
vncext: created VNC server for screen 0
/usr/bin/startxfce4: X server already running on display :1

When I connect to the session with a client, I get a message box:
Unable to contact settings server
Failed to connect to socket /tmp/dbus-aGg7nXMx5r: Connection refused

The desktop backgroud appears briefly, then another message box pops up:

Unable to get connection to the message bus session
Failed to connect to socket /tmp/dbus-aGg7nXMx5r: Connection refused

after which a blank screen remains.

If I comment out the "unset" lines in xstartup, then the log output is:

Xvnc TigerVNC 1.6.0 - built Dec 25 2015 15:38:10

xfce4-session: Another session manager is already running

When connecting to the session, only blank screen appears.

Relevant packages installed versions:

xfce4-settings 4.12.0-5
xfdesktop 4.12.3-2
xfwm4 4.12.3-2
tigervnc 1.6.0-1

Any ideas?

TIA

Re: VNC with Xfce problem

Same thing happening to me on ARM.
I have had limited success running xfce4-session manually.

Re: VNC with Xfce problem

dbus-launch xfce-session
