[SOLVED] No sound in Acer Aspire E 15

Hi, after searching the web for a while, I haven't found a solution to my problem. I am running 4.7.2-1-ARCH 64bits on my Acer Aspire E 15 and the inbuilt speakers don't sound. However, if I plug in some headphones, the sound comes out alright. I have already tried unmuting all the channels with alsamixer, installed PulseAudio and Pavucontrol, and nothing works.

In Pavucontrol I can see that the speaker's signal is working, but no actual sound is to hear.

As you can see, I have two sound cards (HDMI and analog). Pavucontrol shows that the HDMI interface is unplugged (which is true). However it does not show any trouble with my analog card.

What can be the problem here?

Did you set the default sound card?

/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
options snd_pch index=0
options snd_hda_intel index=1

Yeah, I did that. Doesn't work either. However I suppose now my default card is PCH analog, as when I configure the Audio Mixer icon in the xfce4 panel, the card that first appears is PCH, instead of HDMI (which was happening before). But as said, no soud.

Hmmm, i don't know where can be the issue, have you installed all packages of alsa? alsa-utils alsa-firmware alsa-lib alsa-plugins
But if you use alsamixer and try select the soundcard using f6 and then try via terminal speaker-test something happens?

Ps:
I have the same laptop but now i sent it to warranty because the speakers sometimes pop,i tried with other distros and also fresh windows and pops still persist, so it's not arch's problem.

Re: [SOLVED] No sound in Acer Aspire E 15

The problem was a hardware issue. I opened the laptop once and the speakers are fixed to the lid. Therefore, I needed to disconnect the speakers in order to remove the lid. When closing the laptop again, I forgot to plug in the speakers. I was trying to see a Youtube-video in Windows and couldn't hear a sound. This was strange, as I could remember hearing video audio in Windows in the past. Then I opened the laptop again to see what the problem was, and discovered that the speakers where unplugged. I plugged them in, and now it works like a charm in Windows and Arch.

Of course I had to set the analog speakers as the default output and unmute the master channel in alsamixer.

Thanks for the help, Mike.
