Use old GStreamer version for MatLab

Hello,

in order to use Video Files in MatLab I need to install the 0.10 Version of GStreamer.
But after deleting the actual version Gnome refuses to start correctly (e.g. no Desktop Background, no summation of installed applications, etc.).
After re-installing the actual Version and a reboot, Gnome works properly again.
Now I'm asking how to switch to V0.10 without crashing Gnome.

regards

Re: Use old GStreamer version for MatLab

there is no "switching" needed, both versions are coinstallable

You mean you have extra/gstreamer installed and need extra/gstreamer0.10 for MatLab?

You can install both together.

Re: Use old GStreamer version for MatLab

Now I installed both versions and reinstalled MatLab but I still get following error:

Error using VideoReader/init (line 619)
Could not read file due to an unexpected error. Reason: Unable to initialize the video obtain properties

Error in VideoReader (line 172)
            obj.init(fileName);

Which gstreamer0.10 packages did you install?  Did you bother googling that error - I get dozens of results all solved by installing the right gstreamer01.10 package.
