x server starts with xterm only !

hi

just got x server to work ..

okay when typing startx
nvidia logo will appear
and 3 xterm will open

nothing else will be done
inspite of i have gnome installed that if i typed gnome-session in one xterm gnome desktop will start

any ideas ?

You've started twm, a simple window manager.

you need to make a .xinitrc file in your home directory, this should do the trick:

echo "exec gnome-session" > ~/.xinitrc

well i started gdm and all goes perfect !!
am setting up the sound ,network,dvb card,and looks all great .

arch is great !
