Possible Character Encoding issue

A few days ago i noticed that certain web pages where displaying only certain pieces of text in a strange and unreadable font (see photos below), and it wasn't just chromium because it was happening in firefox for the same pages. This isn't just a browser problem though because gvim also shows it's start page in this text, and anything I type in gvim also appears this way. Conky also displays its test the same way, but other than that no other applications, terminals, etc. seem to have this problem. Any help is appreciated.

Check which fonts your browser is using to display webpages, then check the conky configuration to see which font it uses. Finally make sure this font is installed correctly.
