Hello!!
I'm trying to use arch on my AMD A6 GPU, and the system not boots.
I tried other distros and with kernels from 3.19 not booting..only manjaro works. I tried ubuntu starting with nomodeset and then, install 4.7 kernel and it worked with that kernel.
Now, with arch with 4.7 kernel, seems that to be the same, but not works.
At boot, a "no UMS on radeon module" message appears and back to UEFI screen again. With "nomodeset" is working, but I not like make strange things to use any distro.
Is there a way to solve this problem??
Thank you!

Are you booting from DVD or USB? How far does it boot? Have you verified your bootmedia, that it works?
Sorry, i did read your post again and saw you stated the messages. Is it a laptop or desktop?

Is a desktop PC. I'm booting from USB made with dd. the boot media boots perfect on virtualbox and with "nomodeset" option. How far...mmm...well, I don't know what you say with "far"... I only click x64 option on start menu, and then a black screen appears, the monitor goes to sleep and back to UEFI boot, I can't saw anything more. With "nomodeset" appears this "UMS on radeon" error after continue booting, I think this is the problem because on kernel 3.19 and mint this message not appears.
I trying with Arch because I will try Playonlinux with AMDGPU-Pro there. I saw an aur package different than the official AMD driver. With Lubuntu AMDGPU-PRO not works with my games on Playonlinux....

Ok, is it the 20160901 boot media you are using?
E: Have you disabled secure boot in your bios-settings?

Count youself lucky - I have to add 'nomodeset' AND 'libata.force=noncq' to the command line to get my Arch USB install drive to boot successfully on my desktop machine.
6.5.3.arch1-1(x86_64) w/Gnome 44.4
Arch on: ASUS Pro-PRIME x470, AMD 5800X3D, AMD 6800XT, 32GB, | Intel NUC 7i5RYK | ASUS ux303ua | Surface Laptop

Well, I booted usb with nomodeset and I installed the system. Then, the error not appears and the system boots normally...is strange.
I tried amdGPU-pro from aur (this is my objective on arch) and now the system not boots, is blocked at start, only a cursor appears and not continue the boot.
I don't know what i need to do to use amdgpu-pro. I will search mor info.
Thanks!!
