GNOME left alt - get rid of 'screenshot' shortcut! Aargh!!!

FFS...

I like the transparency included as part of XGL; it's pretty big_smile

What I don't like is the fact that every time I try to use the 'Alt + scrollwheel' shortcut that controls the transparency of a window, the fecking screenshot window pops up showing me a capture of my screen :x

The shortcuts for 'capture screenshot' and '...of window' in Preferences -> Keyboard Shortcuts are both disabled. My keyboard layout is fine, I checked (105 key US Dvorak layout).

This is doing my head in. Help me!

install gconf-editor

goto /apps/metacity/global_keybindings and make SURE they are disabled (run_command_screenshot & run_command_window_screenshot).. otherwise it could be another daemon doing this (xbindkeys?)

Thank god for your quick replies!  big_smile

I checked in gconf-editor, and the shortcuts were indeed changed, so I uninstalled gnome-utils and that fixed the problem. It's really bizarre though... I don't use xbindkeys, and I can't think what else caused it

Thanks again you two wink
