Hello,guys:
I wanna try CDE (cdesktopenv) on my Arch (i686 and kernel is 4.7.2-1-ARCH ) ,I did the these operations:
1. download cde-src-2.2.4.tar.gz from http://sourceforge.net and put it in /root
2. tar -xzvf cde-src-2.2.4.tar.gz
3. then I follow this https://sourceforge.net/p/cdesktopenv/wiki/LinuxBuild/ step by step . There is no error when I installing
but when I do this:
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/path/to/cdesktopenv/cde/exports/lib
cd /root/cde=src-2.2.4/programs/dtcalc
./dtcalc
It show " Error: Can't open display:" and I don't know where is wrong.
Then I do this:
# add /usr/dt/bin to your PATH
export PATH=$PATH:/usr/dt/bin
export LANG=C
# Start CDE
startx /usr/dt/bin/Xsession
It just shows a terminal,there is nothing else , will anybody tell me what to do about this ?
Thank you!

You are doing it wrong: install it from the AUR: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … nvironment
Not an Installation issue, moving to NC...

Aborting...
===> ERROR: Makepkg was unable to build cdesktopenv.
===> Restart building cdesktopenv ? [y/N]
===>----------------------------------------

Is this the full output? Try using makepkg manually and post the full output.

Sorry for that,I didn't notice that there is no space on my disk, so the building is failed.
I will try again.
Thank you for answering.
