qBittorrent difficulties

Since some version after about 3.3.3 or 3.3.4 of qBittorrent there have been significant issues - added torrents would remain "invisible" [ https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/5481 ] , and I had pinned qBittorrent to 3.3.3 and libtorrent-rasterbar to an earlier version to avoid these. Eventually, interaction with other libraries (boost and whatever it interacts with) forced me to upgrade. Even worse than the "invisible" torrents issue, some problem in libtorrent-rasterbar now makes qBittorrent segfault about 30 seconds after starting [ https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/50349?p … -rasterbar ] . I've tried playing about with downgrading qBittorent, libtorrent-raster &c., but haven't found anything which works. 

Has anyone else run into this problem, and, more importantly, figured out any solution?  I've thought vaguely about seeing if there is a "dockerised" earlier version of qBittorrent, but I haven't really played with Docker before.
