Samba Active Directory DC

I am having trouble setting up an Active Directory DC using this guide. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sa … controller
I got up to the point of Testing the installation and get no results. For now I have set my resolv.conf back to the original. I have dnsmasq, but disabled it for this.
I ran the command smbclient -L localhost -U% as listed in this wiki https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setup_ … Controller (Warning on one computer I get a TLS error and it works on another. Perhaps because my dnsmasq is presently down). The result of that command was the same except mine said Windows 6.x. It is local host so it shouldn't be picking up one of my windows machines.
Just so you know I was setting the server up using the Arch Wiki. Just happened across the other while troubleshooting.
I will share any logs needed. My overall goal is to get a domain host up asap so that I can configure Postfix. This is for an IP Camera that I intend to keep completely internal and that's why I want to host smtp. I already have ftp configured using vsftpd and the store location is linked to my windows host with umask 0777. Once I replace the motherboard I will be hosting my storage on Linux instead. The memory controller is dying and one reset could mean the end.
I can easily set the camera up tomorrow and it will store the footage, but I want the email alerts so I know that something is happening. I am hoping to find the proper plugin for my email client to sound an alarm when it receives the alert.
So even though I went a bit off topic, the main issue right now is the Domain Controller. Once that is operational I can work on the rest.
Thank you all.
