Google Chrome opens a new instance of Transmission for every link

This just started a little while ago, it used to work OK before. Google Chrome (installed from AUR) starts a new transmission-gtk process for every torrent or magnet link I click on in Chrome. It didn't use to do that, if there was already a transmission-gtk running it would just use it, but not anymore.

I'm running LXDE as my DE.

Any pointers in the right direction on how to troubleshoot/fix it? Thanks.

Re: Google Chrome opens a new instance of Transmission for every link

It could be mime type problem...

Try running these commands

xdg-mime default transmission-gtk.desktop x-scheme-handler/magnet
xdg-mime default transmission-gtk.desktop application/x-bittorrent

Those commands set transmission-gtk as the default magnet link handler and bittorrent client respectively. Hopefully that'll point you in the right direction. You might also want to look into whether chrome is defaulting to xdg-open.
