Pulseaudio - ALSA plug-in - Only 2ch

Hi, looks like i can't get alsa application to stream 5.1 channels to pulseaudio.
I made some try with "mpv --ao=alsa --audio-channels=5.1" but if i open pavucontrol and i split the channels I can see only 2 channels.
Off course, with native pulseaudio apps i can correctly get 6 channels.
My english is not the best, i create a screenshot with all the info.

Thanks, but this won't solve. For what i read first he set the default output device with config file, and then is configuring ac3 spdif playback.

I'd argue this is a bug in the pulse alsa module, since it itself gets the channels properly it just doesn't advertise the information to the pulse server properly (does pacmd list-sink-inputs also show only 2 channels) have you considered asking this on one of the pulse channels?

Thanks. Yes, i considered writing on pulseaudio mailing list (the irc channel is a bit quiet). But first i wanted to check if i have done something wrong with the configuration, and "who you gonna call", i was undecided if this was an ALSA bug or Pulseaudio bug.
