Hi all,
I have an annoying issue with Firefox showing code box with symbols (see png attach)
I reinstalled several packages such as freetype2, firefox and fontconfig. I already unchecked box in firefox to allow it choosing fonts. No results.
Problem appeared after installing lxdm theme arch-linux-theme. I would like to keep lxdm and theme if it's possible.
Any ideas?
uname Linux 4.7.6-1-ARCH
Thanks in advance

Hi again.
Turns out the problem showed up after installing evince, which has dependency on gsfonts.
Once removed those two packages everything came back to normal. Still trying to google if there is a way to solve this issue with evince.
I'll put solved once I'll figure out how to fix evince, if it's possible.
Thanks to evryone anyway.

With gsfonts installed you should be seeing
$ fc-match "monospace"
D050000L.otf: "D050000L" "Regular"
D050000L is Wingdings
You need to add a fontconfig rule and possibly add additional fonts so that fontconfig chooses a better match for monospace.
Font_configuration#Replace_or_set_default_fonts
NimbusMonoPS-Regular.otf "Nimbus Mono" included in the gsfonts package would be one choice, whatever `fc-match monospace` returns when gsfonts is not installed would be another.
Alternatively blacklist wingdings Font_configuration#Whitelisting_and_blacklisting_fonts
